I'm impressed. It's a shame that Apple won't let you run this as a background task.

Having seen how easy this is on the iPhone, I'd love to install a tracker in my car. Unfortunately the Motorola i425 doesn't seem to be available in UK, and cheap unlimited data plans seem to be hard to track down too. I'm interested to see how this all pans out.

I am in the industry of GPS tracking and downloaded this application from the App store last night, ran it on my iPhone on my 60 minute commute to work this morning and am very impressed with it.

I dont know what restrictions you have on you from Apple but it is an excellent App and highly recommended for download, congratulations

I'm not sure if it is just a problem with my phone, but when I installed the update whenever I try to load the app it loads for a few seconds then crashes. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it but the same problem occurs.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Nice to be able to use metic now.

Would love the ability to select data point other than the rough increments in trails on the site. And saving tracks as well. Now I can only (?) print a .pdf from screen

As david french said it earlier, the key here is, this app needs to be able to run in the background.
Otherwise, it will just remain a hack and not usable in real life...
A circumstance that a lot of apps suffer with...
Other than that,it works fine!!!

Cheers

I know this is going to sound really weird to a bunch of you hi-tech people. The reason I have downloaded the application onto my Iphone is that I rent Villas in Tuscany and we provide our clients with written itineraries. They regularaly ignore them and plug in the villa name (usually a fantasy name) into their GPS and get totally lost. What I need to do is to go to each individual villa and log into the instamapper position and then write the coordinates in our itineraries so that our guests will simply plug the info in to ther GPS and arrive safely at the rental houses. Does anyone have any idea or suggestion to tell me how to do this in the simplest manner?

Thank you - Ray

The program is stuck on locating after 15 minutes on my iPhone. I registered the device but it won't locate. Is this normal? If so, how long does it take to find your location and if it isn't normal how can I get it to work?

Thanks guys

Joe

To everyone who is stuck on "Locating...", read the HOWTO carefully. This also has been discussed on our forums.

Our family has a couple of iPhones and we use this app to track where "Mom" or "Dad" is--whether it's for a day- or multi-day business trip. The "Hybrid" map option on the site makes it easy for the kids to pick out the landmarks and recognize places that they've been with us on other trips, and it gives them something they can relate to when we call. Thanks for creating this app!
